Porsche Taycan recalled in USA after Hazard Lights Issues

Porsche Taycan recalled in USA after Hazard Lights Issues

October 28, 2021

Porsche has remained among the leading car manufacturers all around the globe. I addition to that, its association with luxury, brand value, and stardom is another reason why the company has been so successful, and people dream to have its cars. However, an unfortunate and unexpected issue crept up when Porsche had to recall all of its Taycan electric vehicles sold between 2019 and 2021. The reason was a software issue in the Porsche Taycan that caused a great deal of confusion while driving and could potentially lead to accidents and roadside collisions.

The Porsche Recall

Porsche recalled 11,827 Taycan EVs from all across the USA. This included majority of the Porsche Taycan currently being used in the USA, if not all of them. The issue was with the hazard lights that turned on even in non-emergency situations. In the official statement by Porsche, the issue has been described as the wrong activation of Hazard lights in non-emergency situations.

The issue has been described as a software problem and can be solved through a software fix. During the fix, the hazard lights will be reprogrammed to get rid of the issue. Owners and Car users can get their cars fixed at Porsche Dealerships. Moreover, they can also contact the Porsche customer care services.

What is Porsche Taycan?

Porsche Taycan is an electric super car that is operated with double motors and can generate horsepower of 522 hp with the smaller battery and 562 hp with the bigger battery. The Porsche Taycan is priced at 103,800 USDs while the Taycan turbo is offered for 150,900 USDs. The premium variant in Taycans, the Taycan Turbo S is priced at a healthy 185,000 USDs.

The car has been hailed as a first of its kind fully electric super car that offers highly enterprising features, thrilling speed, and a look of luxury and comfort.

It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time that Taycan has decided to recall its vehicles. In July 2021, it also had to recall a significant number of Taycans from all across the world because of a software issue.

Back then, about 43000 Porsche Taycan were recalled that faced the issue of loss of power while operating at different speeds. The issue was a serious one and some serious questions were raised about the Car’s engineering and programming. In a world that is quickly switching to the cleaner and greener forms of energy such as Electric Vehicles, such issues are totally unacceptable, considering that the occurrences are common among the finest of all the electric vehicles.

Previously, the issues have always been resolved by the Porsche. However, it is better, more convenient, and preferable if these issues do not occur at all. Taycan remains a very fine and much desired car and the emphasis should remain on the retention of this quality and excellence of the Taycans.
